New Trailer for 'The Theory of Everything' starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones

Is it possible that Eddie Redmayne's performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything will net him an Oscar this season? Coming out of the festival circuit (sadly, it won't be playing in Middleburg), the film has earned him nothing but rave reviews, and perhaps it's time to start taking his ascendance as a legitimate star a little more seriously.

The latest trailer for the James Marsh-directed biopic gives another look at Redmayne as the brilliant Hawking, with Felicity Jones as Cambridge student Jane Wilde, the woman who would stand by his side through the most difficult time of his life. It looks like the kind of film the Academy loves to honor, and we'll see if lives up to the buzz when The Theory of Everything opens November 7th. Here's the synopsis followed by the new trailer.

Starring Eddie Redmayne (“Les Misérables”) and Felicity Jones (“The Amazing Spider-Man 2”), this is the extraordinary story of one of the world’s greatest living minds, the renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, who falls deeply in love with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde. Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering diagnosis at 21 years of age. With Jane fighting tirelessly by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of – time. Together, they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than they could ever have dreamed. The film is based on the memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen, by Jane Hawking, and is directed by Academy Award winner James Marsh (“Man on Wire”).
