Blake Lively is Eternally Gorgeous in First Trailer for 'The Age of Adaline'
The last film directed by Lee Toland Krieger was the rom-com Celeste & Jesse Forever, a film that explored whether friendship could survive a failed attempt at romance. His follow-up, The Age of Adaline, will look at whether love is strong enough to overcome anything, including immortality.
Starring Blake Lively, the film revolves around a woman born in the early 1900s who becomes ageless after a freak accident. It may sound great, but clearly it comes with a few drawbacks. Krieger tells USA Today...
"It sounds like wish fulfillment to look like Blake Lively forever. But she cannot grow old with anyone. In a world consumed with youth and vanity, there's something very fresh and beautiful about a story focusing on the beauty of growing old."
Ellen Burstyn plays Adaline's daughter, who she must watch grow old and die, the same as everyone else she'll ever get close to. Er, it's probably a coincidence that Burstyn played a similar role in Interstellar, right? Also starring Harrison Ford, Michael Huisman (Game of Thrones), and Amanda Crew, The Age of Adaline opens April 24th 2015.
