Tom Hooper (Les Miserables) has already gathered a strong central pair in Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander for his sex-change drama, The Danish Girl. Now Deadline reports that Amber Heard is in talks to take on a key supporting role. The fact-based story centers on Danish painter Einar Wegener (Redmayne) who in 1930 became one of the first men to undergo a sex change, becoming Lili Elbe. The film is essentially a love story about Einar and his wife Gerda (Vikander), who supported him in his decision until complications became too great.. Heard would take on the supporting role of Oola. Charlize Theron, Rachel Weisz, Nicole Kidman, and Marion Cotillard have been attached to the film at various points, all eventually dropping out.
Felicity Jones, who can be seen right now in The Theory of Everything, is in early talks to join Ron Howard and Tom Hanks for Inferno, the second sequel following The Da Vinci Code. Based on Dan Brown's popular novels, the film has an amnesiac Robert Langdon working with a doctor to recover his memories and stop a madman from releasing a global plague with connections to Dante's Inferno. If she signs, Jones would take on the role of Sienna Brooks, the doctor helping Langdon solve his latest mystery. [Deadline]
