Box Office: Dreamworks' 'Home' Delivers a TKO to Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart, Wins the Weekend with $54M

1. Dreamworks Home- $54M
In the classic battle of family fun vs R Rated raunch-com the family film holds strong again. Home, starring Rhianna and Jim Parson's, tells the story of an alien on the run who befriends an earthling with whom he can relate...its your classic E.T. scenario. That seemed to be enough to get a clear hold on the top spot this weekend, beating out the other new release this week, Get Hard, by a clean $20 million. Speaking of...

2. Get Hard- $34.6M
While a $34 million dollar opening weekend for a comedy staring two of the top leading men in Hollywood comedy may not sound like anything to write home about, the films $40 million dollar budget means they'll be in the profit category in no time marking another theatrical success for Ferrell and Hart.
FUN FACT: Think Kevin Hart is the hot new thing in Hollywood? Think again! His fame may be new but he's no rookie in this league with starring roles going back as far as 2004. The movie? Soul Plane (Maybe that's why we didn't see him again for a few years)

3. The Divergent Series: Insurgent- $22M/$86.3M
The Divergent Series continues to be a few steps below the teen-centric action saga it appears to be pulling in a disappointing $22 million this weekend, I can't speak to the overseas numbers but, at least domestically, it will be surprising to see them regain their budget

4. Cinderella- $17.5M/$150M
While ticket sales are beginning to slow Disney's live action interpretation of. perhaps., their most classic animated film can officially be deemed a hit surpassing their budget domestically and hitting the $150 million dollar mark! (Seriously, is anyone surprised by this?)

5. It Follows- $4M/$4.7M
The teen horror film goes wide in its third week of release....but it seems they forgot to tell anyone.

6. Kingsman: The Secret Service- $3M/$119.4M
While it hasn't broken records the sheer fact that Kingsman which had a VERY small built in fanbase, has managed to stay in the top 10 for 7 weeks is enough for me to call this run impressive.

7. Run All Night- $2.2M/$23.8M
Look, I love Liam Neeson...who doesn't? That being said I think this latest flop is sign enough that his resurgence as an action hero has come to an end. It worked for a bit but audiences are obviously tiring of the same thing every year, Neeson as a badass in a quasi-low rent action thriller.

8. The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel- $2.1M/$28.1M

9. Do You Believe- $2.1M/$7M

10.  The Gunman- $2M/$8.8M
And our "Flop of the Week" award goes to Sean Penn's The Gunman which, after two weeks in release, has failed to earn back even a quarter of it's budget domestically.
