Captain Marvel May Not Appear in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' After All

Ready for another rumor about Captain Marvel? Sure, why not! There have been various reports going around for days that she'll appear in this summer's Avengers: Age of Ultron before heading off for her solo film in 2018. Since she's been rumored for a role long before her solo movie was even announced, this seems more than plausible, and an actress may have already been found to play her. But according to the folks at Nerdist, we could be waiting awhile longer.

The site says earlier reports of Captain Marvel's cameo in Avengers: Age of Ultron are false, according to a source close to the production. She could have turned up in a post-credits sequence, and the door is still open to that possibility, but it wouldn't make much sense given how far away her solo movie is. It's more likely she'll show up later in Captain America: Civil War, which many are already referring to as Avengers 2.5. But at the same time we know 'Ultron' will feature some characters we have yet to see in the promos. Could it be Thanos? Maybe Black Panther? Or Doctor Strange? We'll have to wait and see because frankly I don't trust Latino Review or Nerdist to be 100% right on anything.

Avengers: Age of Ultron isn't that far away, arriving on May 1st.
