Jamie Foxx Exits Harmony Korine's 'The Trap' but Idris Elba, James Franco, Al Pacino, and Robert Pattinson Join

As if Harmony Korine's follow-up to Spring Breakers wasn't enough reason to get excited, the cast for The Trap is shaping up to be pretty damned awesome. But first, a bit of a shake-up is in order. While Benicio Del Toro and Jamie Foxx were the first to come aboard the music world revenge tale, Foxx has dropped out and been replaced by Idris Elba. And that's only just the beginning.

Also coming aboard the film are Robert Pattinson, Al Pacino, and Korine's Spring Breakers star, James Franco, all in supporting roles. The film is set in the Miami music scene and follows two longtime friends. Elba's character is a successful gangsta rapper at the top of his career, while Del Toro has recently been released from prison after 14 years and seeks revenge. In what sounds pretty amazing, Pattinson and Franco will play Del Toro's gun-toting crew, while Pacino is his parole officer.

Focus Features is looking to come aboard the film and can you really blame them? If The Trap is even a fraction as wild as Spring Breakers it could be out of this world, especially with this kind of cast. [THR]
