Big things are on the way for both Jeremy Renner and director Denis Villeneuve. Renner will be suiting up as Hawkeye this summer for Avengers: Age of Ultron, then we'll catch him later in the year in Mission: Impossible 5 opposite Tom Cruise. That will be followed by the archer making an appearance in Captain America: Civil War. As for Villeneuve, the Enemy and Prisoners director will be taking over the reins of the Blade Runner sequel. Somehow with all that going on Renner and Villeneuve have found time to work on a project together.
Renner has joined Amy Adams in Villeneuve's sci-fi film, Story of Your Life. Based on Ted Chiang's book, the story centers on a linguist (Adams) hired by the government to determine if newly-arrived extraterrestrials are friend or foe. Renner will play a physics professor working alongside her. Eric Heisserer (The Thing) penned the screenplay with production set to begin in June.
