Domhnall Gleeson Joins 'Mena', Kal Pen Meets 'The Girl in the Photographs'; Logan Lerman is 'Rothchild'

Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Ex Machina star Domhnall Gleeson has joined Tom Cruise in the drug trafficking film, Mena, which was just given a January 2017 release date. Directed by Doug Liman (who recently exited Splinter Cell), the film tells the true story of Barry Seal, a TWA pilot and drug smuggler for the Medellin cartel. Seal was eventually caught by the DEA turned informant, taking part in one of the biggest covert operations in US history.  Let's just say the cartel didn't take it well when they found out. Horror legend Wes Craven has set his protege Nick Simon to direct The Girl in the Photographs, a thriller that will star Kal Penn. Co-written by Simon, Oz Perkins, and Robert Morast, the film centers on Colleen, a bored small-town girl looking to escape from her abusive boyfriend. Then two serial killers begin leaving her photograph at the scenes of their brutal crimes. Penn plays Peter Hemmings, a hipster celebrity photographer who returns home to South Dakota to copy the killers' artistry and use Colleen as the centerpiece of a new campaign in Los Angeles. Logan Lerman will headline Rothchild, a "high-class thriller" penned by John Patton Ford. The film centers on Becket Rothchild, the intelligent black sheep of a wealthy family who learns he won't get a dime when his parents die, so he starts murdering those ahead of him for the inheritance. Lerman last starred in Fury opposite Brad Pitt, and was recently rumored to be up for Marvel's Spider-Man. [TheTrackingBoard]
