Kenneth Branagh Finds 'Murder on the Orient Express'

The most recent big screen adaptation of one of Agatha Christie's many mystery novels may surprise you. It was actually the Arnold Schwarzenegger-led action flick, Sabotage, based VERY LOOSELY on Christie's book, And Then There Were None. Chances are we won't see Christie's classic Murder on the Orient Express get a similarly weaponized upgrade, especially not with Kenneth Branagh in charge of the upcoming remake.

Branagh, hot off the global success of his live-action Cinderella, is in talks to direct a remake of Murder On the Orient Express, with Ridley Scott and Simon Kinberg on board as producers and Michael Green (the Blade Runner remake) writing the screenplay. The 1934 has sold millions of copies worldwide and is arguably the most popular story to feature Christie's renowned detective, Hercule Poirot. The novel was adapted into an Oscar-winning film in 1974 by Sidney Lumet.

If all comes together an A-list cast is expected to be assembled, which seems fitting for a story of this stature. [TheWrap]
