That's a lot of cash generated by a relatively low-cost franchise with a brand name everybody recognizes. And that's why this Christmas you'll be gifted with Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.
Jason Lee returns as human wet blanket David Seville, the only guy who would put up with the antics of trouble-making chipmunks Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. In the series' fourth movie the singing trio hope to ruin David marriage proposal to his girlfriend. Awwww, aren't they sweet? Here's the synopsis:
Through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in New York City…and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother.
Directed by Walt Becker, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip opens December 23rd.
