For a long time the rumors surrounding Domhnall Gleeson's role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is that he would be related to the Skywalkers. Maybe that will still turn out to be true, but he's definitely playing a villain. Gleeson was announced as being part of the "dark side" as a character named General Hux. He came up on stage at Comic-Con today along with Adam Driver as Kylo Ren and Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, all villains.
Hux and the other bad guys will be part of the First Order, who operate out of Starkiller Base, a reference to George Lucas' original last name for Luke Skywalker. Also confirmed for a role is Simon Pegg, seen in a featurette as some kind of alien creature.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18th, and will be followed by Anthology film 'Rogue One' which begins shooting in three weeks.
