First 'Fantastic Four' Clip has the Team making History

Should we be concerned that 20th Century Fox has kept so much of Josh Trank's Fantastic Four under wraps? Or could it simply be they want to maintain the superhero film's mystery, no different than what J.J. Abrams does on a regular basis?  The first clip is arriving with only a few days before it opens in theaters, and even this footage doesn't give much away.

Starring Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm, Miles Teller as Reed Richards, Kate Mara as Susan Storm, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm, and Toby Kebbell as Doom, the story offers a darker, more serious look at the Fantastic Four's origin. This scene shows them preparing for the interstellar voyage that will grant them their incredible powers. And along for the ride is Doom, before he goes all evil and stuff.

Whether there's cause for concern or not I don't know, but I've been impressed by the footage that has been shown. That it doesn't instantly resemble Marvel/Disney's movies is a very good thing.

Also starring Reg E. Cathey and Tim Blake Nelson, Fantastic Four opens August 7th.
