'Mad Max: Fury Road' Director George Miller Rumored for 'Man of Steel' Sequel
When Zack Snyder's Justice League films arrive in 2017 and 2019, they won't be the first time Warner Bros. has tried to bring DC's most powerful team of heroes to the big screen. Years ago Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller was close to it with Justice League Mortal (the subject of an upcoming documentary), which would have starred Common, Adam Brody, Armie Hammer, and more. Obviously that never happened, but Miller is still in the studios' good graces after the success of 'Fury Road', and he may be returning to the world of superheroes.
Appearing on PopCornTalk’s DC Movie News podcast, The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened? director Jon Schnepp said Miller is taking on a Man of Steel sequel. There's no indication where such a movie would fit in DC's expanded universe, but likely it would be far down the line, after Justice League part 2. The lineup is already stacked, and the possibility of multiple solo Batman movies only makes it more of a crowded field.
Now, this rumor has actually been kicking around for awhile but has been totally unconfirmed, so take it with a grain of salt. It's just that Schnepp is going public with it, which is probably going to shake some more information loose at some point. Of course, Schnepp isn't involved with the project so he could just be reciting rumors he read online. Or he knows some folks at Warner Bros. who spilled the beans and he feels confident enough to talk about it. Either way, it does seem like something is going on here. Let's just hope it doesn't interfere with Miller's Mad Max: The Wasteland.
