Scoot McNairy's 'Batman v Superman' Role may have been Revealed

Does it seem like speculation on the characters in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been ramped up to another level lately? Just a few days ago rumors began spreading about Jena Malone and Callan Mulvey's roles in the superhero film, and now it looks Scoot McNairy's turn has come around again. Last year a story surfaced that claimed McNairy, who was spotted on set wearing bright green leggings for later digital work, would be playing reporter Jimmy Olsen. Now a fresh update on that story could bring his role into clearer focus.

According to Heroic Hollywood, every detail about the earlier rumor, which came from a different source, is absolutely true. McNairy is playing Olsen, the Daily Planet reporter who is often seen as Clark Kent's best civilian pal.  As for the green socks McNairy was wearing? It's because this version of Olsen was a victim of the devastation caused by the fight between Superman and Zod in Man of Steel. His legs were destroyed after they were pinned under fallen rubble, and now he uses prosthetics to get around. How much you want to bet those prosthetics were designed by LexCorp?  But unlike Luthor, Olsen doesn't blame Superman for what happened. Instead he's grateful that the Kryptonian saved the world from destruction.

It's all still speculation at this point, but this does look like one rumor that may actually pan out. We'll find out for sure when the film opens next year on March 25th.
