Considering James Oakley's new comedy is titled The Brits are Coming, one would think the cast would feature a few more from across the pond. Instead it's actually pretty diverse, and joining the previously-cast Uma Thurman and Kristin Chenoweth in the film now are Sofia Vergara, Parker Posey, Tim Roth, Alice Eve, Stephen Fry, and Maggie Q.
That's a heck of a lot of talent for a broad comedy that looks like it will fly under the radar. Oakley will direct and co-wrote the screenplay with Alex Michaelides that centers on a British con artist couple Harriet and Peter, (Thurman and Roth) who flee to Los Angeles to get out from under their debts to a gangster. When the friend they approached for money double-crosses them, the couple are forced to find another way to raise the cash, so they plot a a jewel theft involving Peter's ex-wife.
Filming on The Brits are Coming is underway now.
