Liam Neeson to Star in Suspense Thriller 'The Commuter'

Liam Neeson may be happy to parody his career, like with the action-comedy The Revenger he recently signed up for, but that doesn't mean he's going to stop playing the hero any time soon. Few have completely reinvented themselves in quite the way Neeson has or engendered the same level of fan loyalty, and now he's ready to give his followers more.

Neeson has agreed to star in The Commuter, which may sound like the world's most boring superhero but is actually a suspense-thriller from co-writers Byron Willinger and Phil de Blasi. Along with the producers this is essentially the same team that worked with Neeson on Non-Stop and Unknown, so you probably know what to expect. The film stars Neeson as a commuter on his way home who gets caught up in a criminal conspiracy that threatens his life and those of the people around him.

Filming is set to begin this spring once a director is found. Paging Jaume Collet-Serra? [Deadline]
