Brie Larson Reteaming with 'Short Term 12' Director for 'The Glass Castle'
With the release of Lenny Abrahamson's stunning drama Room, Brie Larson is on her way to what will surely be a significant Oscars campagin. But it's not the first time she's been in that kind of spotlight. A couple of years ago there was similiar buzz for Short Term 12, which proved to be a breakout for her and director Destin Daniel Cretton. Well now circumstances have opened up a chance for them to work together once more.
For more than a year Jennifer Lawrence had been attached to star in Cretton's adaptation of Jeanette Walls' memoir, The Glass Castle, but she's had to drop out due to her busy schedule. Now Larson is in talks for the role of Walls who was raised by dysfunctional, eccentric parents. Her father was an imaginative, caring man but a drunk who could barely hold a job. Her mother was an excitement junkie who couldn't take the responsibility of parenting. The screenplay was written by Marti Noxon, best known for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Fright Night remake.
Larson and Cretton together again? Hell yeah. No word on when filming begins but Larson is sure to be a bigger star by the time it does.
