In a way it's a little surprising Hollywood hasn't already remade 1990 thriller, Flatliners, until you remember that it has actually been in the works for years. Oh well. While it has taken some time to get off the ground, the remake is one step closer to reality as Ellen Page has entered talks for one of the lead roles.
This version of Flatliners will be directed by Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) from a screenplay by Ben Ripley (Source Code) that brings a sci-fi twist to the supernatural tale. The original film was best remembered for its hot young cast of Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin, and Oliver Platt, all playing med students experimenting with near-death experiences until they bring back something evil.
