'The Crow' Finally Set to Fly this March with Corin Hardy Directing

Relativity is putting all of their eggs into their remake of The Crow. The company is set to emerge out of bankruptcy and it's the first major project they're undertaking after years of trying to get it off the ground. According to The Wrap, Relativity has locked in director Corin Hardy (The Hallow) to a deal that will get shooting going next March.

The Crow has been one of the most tumultuous productions in recent memory, and the list of talent that has passed through is too extensive to list. Most recently it was Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) attached to star as murdered rocker Eric Draven, who comes back as a spirit of vengeance against those who killed him and his girlfriend.  Huston dropped out last summer, then the project was essentially scrapped when Relativity filed for bankruptcy. But they invested millions to hold on to the rights for fear of it reverting to producer Edward R. Pressman.

Is this a smart gamble or a waste of Relativity's resources when they could be investing elsewhere? There hasn't been a ton of clamoring for it, and unless they can find a big star, something they've been unable to do thus far, it could be a disaster.
