The First 'World of Warcraft' Teaser and Poster Reveal Epic Battles

Does it feel like Warcraft has been in the works forever? It was nearly a decade ago that Legendary Pictures and Blizzard Entertainment announced plans to bring the best-selling game to the big screen, even setting a release date for 2009. While Sam Raimi eyed the project for a while, it wasn't until Source Code director Duncan Jones came aboard in 2013 that it really got moving, and now two years later the first footage from the CGI-heavy action film is finally here.

With the first trailer set to arrive this Friday at BlizzardCon, a tiny morsel has been released to whet fans' appetites. It's basically 15-seconds of action, glossy and well-crafted special effects, and tons of CGI orcs. Jones was able to accomplish a great deal on Moon and Source Code with limited funds, and it looks like he's putting the bigger budget to good use. Along with the teaser is a brand new poster, which fits with the style of the images released during Comic-Con.

Starring Travis Fimmel, Ben Foster, Paula Patton, Ben Schnetzer, Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, Toby Kebbell, Robert Kazinsky, Clancy Brown, Anna Galvin, and Daniel Wu, Warcraft opens June 10th 2016.
