Clive Owen To Star In Andrew Niccol's Sci-Fi Psychological Thriller, 'Anon'

Other than the work he's done on Cinemax's The Knick these last few years, Clive Owen's track record has been a bit spotty lately. That said, he'll always be a favorite around these parts (I'll watch him in Closer and Children of Men all day), and when he's got a new project it's worth keeping tabs on, and that includes his upcoming film with Gattaca director, Andrew Niccol.

According to Deadline, Owen is set to star in Anon, a sci-fi/psychological thriller which Niccol will direct. The film sounds a lot like Minority Report in that it takes place in a world where there is no crime due to a lack of privacy and anonymity. Owen plays a detective who stumbles upon a woman who doesn't exist and could signal crime's return.

This sounds close enough to Gattaca that it may be worth getting excited about a Niccol film again, although his About Time was merely average. As for Owen, he's currently shooting on Luc Besson's sci-fi adventure, Valerian.
