First Look at Sony's Animated 'Smurfs: The Lost Village'

Despite the first two Smurfs live-action movies earning more than $900M worldwide, Sony Pictures decided that was enough. They decided to reboot the franchise and go back to the beloved characters' roots with a fully animated film that was initially titled Get Smurfy (ugh), but now has a new title, a voice cast, and the first revealed images.

USA Today unveiled the first looks at Smurfs: The Lost Village, which will be directed by Gnomeo & Juliet's Kelly Asbury. Demi Lovato has been confirmed to voice Smurfette, and she's been joined by Joe Manganiello as Hefty Smurf, Jack McBrayer as Clumsy, Danny Pudi as Brainy, Mandy Patinkin as Papa Smurf, and Rainn Wilson as the evil Gargamel.  So ladies, you'll be getting more shirtless Manganiello than in two Magic Mike flicks combined. Only he'll be blue, animated, and sorta undefined.

The plot finds Smurfette on a journey to locate a legendary Smurf Village and perhaps learn her true purpose in life. It can't be easy being the only girl in a village full of dudes with blue balls.

Smurfs: The Lost Village opens on March 31st 2017.
