Melissa McCarthy Gets Nasty In 'The Boss' Red Band Trailer

Over the last few days there's been a minor disturbance in the Force, or as much of one as there can be when talking about a Gilmore Girls revival. Fans have been upset that Melissa McCarthy hasn't been approached to reprise her first major role as Sookie on the returning Netflix series. Granted, McCarthy is a HUGE star now, but given that she was able to star in sitcom Mike & Molly while starring in a string of hit films, she probably could have found the time. Fortunately for her devoted followers, McCarthy will be able to cut loose in her next comedy, The Boss, which promises to be raunchier than anything seen in Stars Hollow.

A NSFW trailer for The Boss has McCarthy dropping one nasty insult after another as Michelle Darnell, a titan of industry whose career goes up in flames for insider trading. Released from prison, she sets out to rebuild her image, but finds that the people she screwed over aren't so forgiving.

The film is directed by McCarthy's husband, Ben Falcone, who last directed her in Tammy, which was another comedy about an unlikable character. Along with her thieving character in Identity Thief, McCarthy seems to gravitate towards these kinds of reclamation projects.

Also starring Kristen Bell, Peter Dinklage, and Kathy Bates, The Boss opens April 18th.
