'Batman v Superman' Deleted Scene Teases A Major DC Villain
Details on the R-rated "Ultimate Cut" of Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice were only just revealed (get preordering it now, y'all!), and already Warner Bros. is teasing the Hell out of its contents. The studio has revealed one of the deleted scenes that will be part of the 30 minutes of additional footage in the extended home released, and honestly it's a scene that would have been crazy confusing. Beware of spoilers!!
There comes a point later on in the film when Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) wades into some cosmic Kryptonian slop in order to make use of Zod's corpse in order to create Doomsday. It was pretty confusing what the heck was going on at the time, but this extra footage would have made it worse. Luthor is before some alien creature that appears to be holding a pair of Mother Boxes, which comics fans will know is the technology used by the all-powerful villain, Darkseid, and is teased at one point during the film. He's expected to be the big baddie of the upcoming Justice League movies, but is this our first look at how he'll be captured on screen? Let's hope not because that would be a huge departure. But those Mother Boxes are important, and are responsible for the creation of Victor Stone aka Cyborg, a future member of Justice League.
It's probably a good idea this was left out, but it could prove to be very important in the long run.
