One involved an ominous warning delivered to Batman by an armor-wearing version of The Flash (Ezra Miller), who had apparently been sent back in time. Flash made reference to Lois Lane being "the key" to something, and also told Batman to "find us" and that he was "always right about him". Who was he referring to? Superman? Or perhaps Lex Luthor? Batman had his suspicions about both, proving to be right on one and wrong on the other. According to producer Deborah Snyder, that scene wasn't planned ahead of time, but was inserted in during production as a tease for what's to come. She tells Collider...
"This was kind of the opposite [of Breaking Bad] because we had the script and it wasn’t in the script. As we started then we worked on our script, I think we were in the middle of shooting and we started working on the outline for the next movie and where they go, and Zack said, ‘Oh my God let’s add this moment that is gonna pay off down the road, and we’ll find out more information.’"
So it sounds like we'll be getting answers about that moment in next year's Justice League. Could it be foreshadowing Darkseid? Or something else entirely? Another important cameo involved the transformation of Victor Stone into Cyborg (Ray Fisher) by his father, Silas (Joe Morton) using what appeared to be a Mother Box. The Mother Boxes are alien technology used by Darkseid, and they were glimpsed in the deleted scene involving Lex Luthor. Speaking with EW, Zack Snyder revealed the reasons why he included that scene, and what it means for Cyborg as part of the Justice League...
"That’s the first glimpse of the Mother Box there. It was an agonizing birth. I really wanted to show Cyborg’s birth because I feel like he plays such a strong part coming up, and I really wanted to give a sense of him. I really want [the audience] to know how far he’s come."
Both of these scenes will play a major part in Justice League Part One, which opens November 17th 2017. Cyborg's solo film doesn't arrive until April 3rd 2020, while The Flash's movie races into theaters March 16th 2018.
