Michael Keaton Is Lovin' It In First Look At McDonald's Biopic 'The Founder'

For decades the entire world has "McDonald's Country", but that wasn't always the case. There was a time when the iconic burger franchise was largely territorial, and it wasn't until Ray Kroc came along with a master plan to provide fast food to everyone and everywhere. That story of how McDonald's became the biggest fast food chain ever is being told in The Founder, and the first look at Michael Keaton as Kroc has arrived.

Glorying under a "Minnesota is McDonald's Country" banner, Keaton looks like the consummate salesman, ready to do whatever it takes to close the deal. According to some, Kroc used unscrupulous business practices to wrest control of McDonald's away from founders Dick and Mac McDonald (Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch), so don't expect this to be a straight-up happy tale of the golden arches' success.

Directed by John Lee Hancock with Linda Cardellini, BJ Novak, Laura Dern, and Patrick Wilson co-starring, The Founder opens its doors on August 5th.
