Taylor Kitsch To Make Directorial Debut With Crime Drama, 'Pieces'

Tim Riggins is going from football star to Hollywood filmmaker. Taylor Kitsch is set to make his directorial debut on Pieces, which he will also write, produce, and star in. He'll be reteaming with producer Peter Berg who directed him in Lone Survivor, Battleship, and served as exec-producer on Friday Night Lights.

The film is based on Kitsch's recent short film which debuted at the Palm Springs International ShortFest. The story centers on three best friends in Detroit whose lives are turned upside down after they intercept a drug run. 

Filming will begin this summer. Next up for Kitsch is Xavier Dolan's celebrity drama The Death and Life of John F. Donovan. [Deadline]
