'Where's Waldo?' Movie Lands Seth Rogen And Evan Goldberg As Producers

Young or old, everybody knows Martin Handford's "Where's Waldo?" books, to the point where people dress up as the striped-shirt-wearing dork with the silly hat and glasses. During the '90s they reached peak popularity, spawning everything from video games to television series, and of course a movie has been in the works, as well.  And while MGM had trouble moving on the project for a few years, they think Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are the right duo to make it happen.

Rogen and Goldberg are on board to produce Where's Waldo, with Rogen's The Night Before and Sausage Party writers Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir providing the screenplay. Unlike those R-rated comedies, Where's Waldo is expected to be all-ages and family-friendly, just as the books were.

How will Rogen and Goldberg help make the transition from the page to the screen, though? The books featured more characters than just Waldo, but primarily they were about spotting him in a crowded, colorful image.  He has friends, a dog, an evil nemesis, and travels to magical realms, so perhaps this is the route they'll take in developing a story.  [TheTrackingBoard]
