Kaa Reveals Mowgli's Origin In 'The Jungle Book' IMAX Trailer
Fifty years have passed since Disney's animated adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, pretty much the definitive version of the story on the big screen. However that may be about to change when Jon Favreau's gorgeous live-action film arrives, and now there's a new trailer for its upcoming IMAX release.
Introduced by Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o who voices the wolf Raksha, the trailer includes the origin story for Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), told to him by the snake, Kaa, voiced by Scarlett Johansson. While we've seen that the tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba) wants Mowgli dead, he's also a big reaso Mowgli was orphaned in the first place.
The all-star voice cast includes Bill Murray as Baloo, Ben Kingsley as the wise panther Bagheera, Christopher Walken as orangutan King Louie, and Giancarlo Esosito as Akera, the wolf pack's alpha male. The Jungle Book hits theaters on April 15th.
