Michael Fassbender To Lead Serial Killer Film, 'Entering Hades'
Michael Fassbender can do pretty much anything he wants at this point. Need evidence? How about that he's wrapping up his run as Magneto in X-Men: Apocalypse, and will help launch another franchise with video game adaptation Assassin's Creed. Not only that, he has the romance drama The Light Between Oceans coming up later this year, and Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant next year. That's about as diverse a slate as it gets, and yet he's still found time to do something else he's never done before.
Fassbender is set to star in an adaptation of John Leake's book, Entering Hades, which recounts the true story of Jack Unterweger. Unterweger was a celebrated Austrian journalist who wrote about serial killers while also being a serial killer himself. He murdered nearly a dozen prostitutes across multiple continents, including here in Los Angeles.
The screenplay is being rewritten by Alexander Dinelaris, one of the Oscar winning co-writers on Birdman. At this point there's no director but there won't be many who will pass up the chance to work with Fassbender on a project like this. [Variety]
