Bryan Cranston Is Zordon In 'Power Rangers', Plus New Poster Revealed

Who says you can never go home again? Years ago before he became a big star on Malcolm In the Middle and Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston took a job voicing the villain Snizzard on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Not exactly the best gig in the world, but he was just another starving actor back then. And now, many years later with Emmy wins and Oscar nominations to his credit, Cranston is indeed coming home again by joining the Power Rangers reboot.

Cranston won't be a villain this time, though. Instead he'll be Zordon, the giant floating head mentor to the team.

Cranston joins Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as the Blue Ranger, Becky G as the Yellow Ranger, Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, and Elizabeth Banks as villain Rita Repulsa. Dean Israelite is on board to direct, and basically they aren't straying too far from the original formula of teens who band together in sleek robotic costumes to battle evil. That idea of coming together as a single unit is presented in the newly-released poster, which honestly could be for any sci-fi movie. There's absolutely nothing Power Ranger specific about it.

Power Rangers hits theaters on March 24th 2017.
