Creepy Trailer For Sci-Fi Film 'Morgan' Starring Kate Mara, Anya Taylor-Joy, And Jennifer Jason Leigh

Ridley Scott is pretty much always busy, there's never a time when he's sitting idly by without projects he's working on. Last year it was The Martian, right now it's Alien: Covenant as part of a new trilogy, and there's more to follow. Despite all of that he's still got time to produce Morgan, and there are a couple of reasons why. One: it looks like the kind of sci-fi film he would make himself. And two: it's directed by his son, Luke.

Luke Scott makes his directorial debut on the film, which stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Toby Jones, Rose Leslie, Boyd Holbrook, Michelle Yeoh, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Paul Giamatti, basically a cast his Dad would be incredibly proud of. Penned by Seth Owen, the plot is still somewhat of a mystery, but we know it involves a corporate risk-management specialist who is called to a remote facility to decide if an artificial being should be terminated. Here's how the synopsis puts it:

A corporate troubleshooter (Kate Mara) is sent to a remote, top-secret location, where she is to investigate and evaluate a terrifying accident. She learns the event was triggered by a seemingly innocent “human,” who presents a mystery of both infinite promise and incalculable danger.

Could it be this year's Ex Machina? Or this year's Splice? We'll find out when Morgan hits theaters on September 2nd.
