Don't Count On A Han Solo Appearance In 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'

With Alden Ehrenreich firmly set for the role of a young Han Solo in possibly a trilogy of spinoff movies, it seems more than likely that Disney/Lucasfilm will want to get the most out of the character. Even before Ehrenreich came aboard rumors were swirling that Han Solo could appear in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which would have made sense timeline-wise. Maybe it was the plan at some point, but director Gareth Edwards assures Extra TV that it's definitely no longer the case.

I’m not sure if I’m allowed to do this, but I think I should. I can put to bed, Han Solo is not in the movie.”

Meanwhile, producer Kathleen Kennedy also took time to shoot down a rumor that never should've been a thing, that Hayden Christensen would somehow find his way into the film as Anakin Skywalker.

So this is obviously good news because putting either character into the movie would have been a distraction. 'Rogue One' opens December 16th, and despite the weeks of troubling reports on reshoots everything seems to have settled down for the better.
