Kate Beckinsale Unlocks Demons In 'The Disappointments Room' Trailer

Relativity Media's financial woes have wreaked havoc on their lineup of titles, and it stretches beyond the impact on The Crow reboot. The Disappointments Room is one that has been removed from the schedule, slated for November, then pushed up a couple of months to September, which I guess can be taken as a vote of confidence. Certainly it's better than the treatment given to Mike Flanagan's Before I Wake, which is still in limbo.

Today brings the first trailer for The Disappointments Room, a horror starring Kate Beckinsale and directed by DJ Caruso from a screenplay by Prison Break, Stoker, and Legends of Tomorrow's Wentworth Miller. She plays the matriarch of a family who pull a total boner move by buying an old home in the middle of nowhere, only to discover that one of its rooms contains a bunch of demons. Good one. Here's the synopsis:

Tells the story of one family’s terror-filled encounter within their own home. Looking for a fresh start, Dana (Kate Beckinsale) and David, together with their 5-year-old son Jeremy, move into their dream house, a beautiful old rural home. Hidden within the attic was a secret room. When frightening and unexplainable events lead Dana to discover the long lost key to this room, she accidentally unlocks a host of unimaginable horrors that reveal the house’s past is terrifyingly tied with her own.

The Disappointments Room opens September 9th.
