Keanu Reeves Tries To Learn 'The Whole Truth' In New Trailer

There's already a great deal of buzz surrounding the new trailer for Passengers, the sci-fi romance with Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. That film once had Keanu Reeves in the lead role, until he dropped out when delays held up production. So what did he end up doing instead? Legal drama The Whole Truth, a former Daniel Craig project that nobody seems to be talking about and has been out internationally for months. Perhaps somebody made a bad call, Ripley?

Directed by Frozen River's Courtney Hunt, the film sends Reeves back to the courtroom as a defense attorney hired to get a wealthy family's son out of a murder rap, even though he confessed to the crime. Of course the job turns out to be more difficult than he anticipated. It always is.  Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Renee Zellwegger, Jim Belushi, and Gabriel Basso make up a strong cast but there's something awfully bland about this trailer. There's nothing worse than a dull courtroom drama yet so many of them are. I'll continue to hold out hope since the cast is so good.

The Whole Truth hits theaters and VOD on October 21st.
