Loyalty Is Tested In New Trailer For Tupac Biopic 'All Eyez On Me'
You may have missed it but yesterday, September 13th, marked the 20th anniversary of rapper Tupac Shakur's death. Feel old yet? As such it was a perfect time to debut a new trailer for the long-developing biopic, All Eyez on Me, starring Tupac doppelganger Demetrius Shipp Jr.
Directed by Benny Boom and co-starring Danai Gurira, Dominic L. Santana, Kat Graham as Jada Pinkett, and Jamal Woolard as Biggie Smalls, the film is about more than just Tupac's legendary hip-hop career. As the trailer shows it's about the forces that molded and shaped him into an artist, specifically the treatment of African-Americans at the hands of the police. Powerful stuff considering the current climate in this country. We also see Tupac dealing with the temptations and dangers that come with his celebrity, earning a stiff word of warning from his mother who fears for her son's life.
All Eyez on Me has yet to gain a release date but expect that to change soon. Let's just say I'm a lot more excited about this than that Johnny Depp movie where he investigate's Tupac's murder.
