Michael Cera Deals In For Aaron Sorkin's Directorial Debut 'Molly's Game'
We don't see Michael Cera much on the silver screen as much as we used to used to, but we sure do hear him a lot. The Scott Pilgrim vs. the World star has voiced characters in Sausage Party and the upcoming Lego Batman Movie in which he plays Robin. While his recent live-action work has mostly consisted of cameos and indie movies, Cera is making a comeback of sorts by joining Aaron Sorkin's directorial debut, Molly's Game.
Cera joins Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba in Sorkkin's adaptation of the memoir by Molly Bloom, which chronicles how the former Olympic athlete and cocktail waitress began running the most exclusive high-stakes poker game in Hollywood. It was all gravy until the feds rolled up in there and blew up the spot. Cera will take the role of Player X, a member of the celebrity elite who Molly forges a unique relationship with.
Filming begins in November and already this is shaping up to be big. [THR]
