New Trailer For HBO's 'Westworld' Asks If Androids Dream
Do robots dream? And if so, what do they dream of? This seems to be the central question surrounding the latest trailer for HBO's long-awaited Westworld, based on the Michael Crichton book. Perhaps it's because of the lengthy time period between the time the pilot was shot (two years ago) and its premiere, but the network is dropping trailers at a pretty decent clip. Then again they could use a hit with Game of Thrones beginning to wind down.
Cut to the sound of Roy Orbison's apt "In Dreams", this footage features Anthony Hopkins as the creator of Westworld, a futuristic theme park where androids help make the fantasies of other come true. That is until the robots become self-aware, then things start getting dangerous. The cast for this one is huge with Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris, Jimmi Simpson, Thandie Newton, James Marsen, Tessa Thompson, Sidse Babbett Knudsen, Rodrigo Santoro, Ben Barnes, Luke Hemsworth, Clifton Collins Jr, and Angela Sarafyan taking on roles big and small.
Westworld hits HBO on October 2nd.
