Kevin Hart And Ice Cube Returning For 'Ride Along 3'
Time to buckle up, people, because Kevin Hart and Ice Cube are hitting the streets again. The duo have paired up for two hit Ride Along comedies, earning $278M worldwide. And although the sequel cost a bit more and did worse than its predecessor, it's still good enough to warrant one more.
Director Tim Story revealed to The Wrap that Ride Along 3 is in the works, with Hart and Cube getting back behind the wheel. Of course they are. Would anybody show up if they didn't? Probably not. Here's what Story had to say...
“We’re writing the script right now, we’re writing away and basically, I’m waiting to see some pages and we’re excited for the idea and what it can be and of course bringing Kevin [Hart] and Ice Cube back together because they are the greatest odd couple in the world. I’m impatiently waiting for a script to be given to me. We have some great ideas.”
Hmmmm...great ideas? Let's reel it in a little, Tim. I think we know what to expect out of screenwriters Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, who wrote the previous two movies. Presumably we'll see some of the supporting cast return, especially Tika Sumpter who plays Cube's sister and Hart's wife. The first movie was all about Hart proving to her hard-nosed cop brother that he was worthy of marrying her, while the second movie saw him actually join the police force. Where could the third movie go? Will we see the duo head to Japan or something? Isn't that what these buddy comedies usually do?
