Pixar Swaps Release Dates On 'Toy Story 4' And 'The Incredibles 2'
Well, there's good news and some bad news. First, the good: Pixar is giving us The Incredibles 2 a bit earlier now. Yay! The bad news? Toy Story 4 has been delayed again. Awwwwww.
Pixar has decided to swap the release dates on both films, moving Brad Bird's The Incredibles 2 up a full year to June 15th 2018. Conversely, Toy Story 4 will now arrive on June 21st 2019. What's interesting about this is the way audiences perceive both movies. We've been dying to see the animated family of superheroes again, while I don't think anybody was clamoring for more of Buzz Lightyear and Woody, mainly because Toy Story 3 wrapped up their tale so beautifully.
However one feels about either sequel or Pixar's reliance on franchises lately, it's further proof they will take whatever time is necessary to get the movie right. The one recent exception was The Good Dinosaur, and the disappointing result is something they won't want to repeat. [Variety]
