Ben Affleck Won't Be Muscled In Final Trailer For 'Live By Night'
By now we've seen many of the movies that will likely end up nominees for a Best Picture Oscar, but one we have yet to see is Ben Affleck's crime drama, Live by Night. Considering his track record as a director it has to be seen as a favorite, and Warner Bros. wants to remind you of that with this new trailer.
Affleck directs and stars in the adaptation of Dennis Lehane's book set in the roaring '20s and centering on Joe Coughlin, a former WWI vet and son of a Boston cop. Despite all of that he stands opposed to the law, breaking Prohibition with a criminal enterprise that stretches down to Florida.
There's every reason to have high expectations here. The cinematography by Robert Richardson is gorgeous, the cast is phenomenal, and Affleck seems to be hitting all of the right notes of the gangster era. This could be great.
Also starring Sienna Miller, Elle Fanning, Brendan Gleeson, Chris Messina, Zoe Saldana and Chris Cooper, Live by Night opens Christmas Day.
