Penelope Cruz Boards 'Murder On The Orient Express' Remake
Befitting an adaptation of an Agatha Christie classic, Kenneth Branagh's remake of Murder On the Orient Express is shaping up to be a star-studded affair. But not only is the cast terrific, we know Branagh will be pulling out all of the stops by shooting the film on 65mm giving it the breadth and scope it deserves. All that'll mean to most people is that the latest addition to the cast will look extra gorgeous when they see her on the big screen.
Deadline reports Penelope Cruz is the latest to join the ensemble, having been preceded by Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Michael Peña, Judi Dench, Leslie Odom Jr., Josh Gad, Tom Bateman, Lucy Boynton and Derek Jacobi. Remember when Angelina Jolie was on board, too? She's not missed, not with this starry group. The famous story finds popular detective Hercule Poirot (Branagh himself) investigating a train full of colorful suspects when a passenger is murdered. No word on Cruz's role but I find myself wishing her husband Javier Bardem could somehow join her.
Murder On the Orient Express opens November 22nd 2017.
