Slowly but surely the focus on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has shifted from the battle to destroy the Death Star to lead character Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and the mystery surrounding her family. The latest international trailer reveals more of that, from her captured father Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen), and her mother Lyra (Valene Kane) who appears to have given her a Kyber crystal necklace.
That could be significant because Kyber crystals are what's used to power lightsabers. Could it be proof Jyn Erso is meant to become a Jedi Knight? That dovetails nicely with the continued presence of Darth Vader in this footage, as he seems to be a major factor even if he isn't in the movie for very long. Here's the official synopsis:
