Trailer, Cover, And Release Date For R-Rated 'Justice League Dark' Film

Once there was a Guillermo Del Toro-directed project based on the Justice League Dark team, and the director spent quite a few years trying to make it fit with Warner Bros.' building superhero franchise. It never happened, and for a while it seemed like the film was being shelved indefinitely. Then over the summer we learned not only that the live-action movie had been passed to Doug Liman, but that we'd see Justice League Dark first as an animated movie first. And now we have the trailer for it...and it kinda looks like a Batman movie.

Batman figures into the trailer way more than the team's actual members which includes Constantine (voiced by Matt Ryan, reprising his TV series role), Zatanna (Camilla Luddington), Swamp Thing (Roger R. Cross), Deadman (Nicholas Turturro), and Etrigan the Demon (Ray Chase).  There are even bigger names voicing the top flight heroes with Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Jerry O'Connell as Superman, and Jason O'Mara as Batman.

The film will be R-rated just like the terrible divisive Batman: The Killing Joke, and will find the team battling villain Felix Faust, voiced by Veronica Mars' Enrico Colantoni. Here's the synopsis:

Justice League Dark finds the world under attack from supernatural forces that prompts the Justice League’s Batman to seek aid from occult investigator John Constantine. Constantine forms a team of other supernatural superheroes — Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna, and Etrigan the Demon — to help save the world.

Justice League Dark hits DVD and Blu-Ray on February 7th 2017. You can get it digitally on January 24th. Check out the trailer below along with a list of the special features.
