Brie Larson Has A Dysfunctional Past In First Trailer For 'The Glass Castle'

Once Brie Larson suits up for Captain Marvel, the opportunities for her to work on other, smaller projects is going to take a serious hit. Fortunately she had time to reunite with her Short Term 12 director Destin Daniel Cretton for The Glass Castle, an adaptation of Jeannette Walls' bestselling memoir that should be a welcome change of pace during the blockbuster season.

The first trailer has arrived and it's a beautiful, poetic piece of work. Honestly, I'd expect nothing less from the combination of Cretton and Larson they work so well together. The film chronicles Walls' unusual, nomadic upbringing with her dysfunctional family and the impact it would eventually have on her as an adult. Woody Harrelson, Naomi Watts, Ella Anderson, Max Greenfield, and Sarah Snook co-star.

The Glass Castle hits theaters on August 11th.
