So, is Zendaya really playing Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man: Homecoming? That's been the rumor practically since day one when she agreed to play a high school student named Michelle. For her part, Zendaya has shot such talk down on numerous occasions, and continues to do so in her latest comments to MTV...
"My character is 100 percent Michelle, that’s her name, I promise I’m not lying. She’s definitely a different character. This is a character I can have fun with and just really create what I wanted to make her and the director a lot of really cool ideas about how to make her weird and interesting and cool. She says weird things at the wrong time, but that’s why people like her."
I still have my doubts. She may not be MJ, but something tells me Michelle isn't just another student, either. We'll find out when Spider-Man: Homecoming opens July 7th.
