Sandra Bullock Takes The Wheel For Thriller, 'Cash Truck'

We haven't seen much of anything from Sandra Bullock since 2015's Our Brand is Crisis, a film that some thought would be an Oscar contender but instead swirled down the drain. She's just wrapped on Ocean's Eight and that looks like a fairly safe, franchise comedy, but now today at Cannes she has lined up what will be coming next, and it doesn't sound quite so safe.

Bullock will star in Cash Truck, a film inspired by the 2004 French thriller,  Le Convoyeur. Josef Wladyka (Narcos) will direct from a script hailing from three talented writers: Albert Hughes (Menace II Society), John Hodge (Trainspotting), and Ethan Erwin (Solstice). Bullock plays an American who has fallen on hard times and takes a job at a London armored truck company that was recently the target of a deadly heist. As she goes to dangerous lengths to pursue a mysterious agenda, an explosive secret from her past emerges.

This one just came together at Cannes so no word on when it will shoot, but I imagine Bullock won't be sitting around for too long. [Deadline]
