Adam McKay made the turn from directing broad comedies like Anchorman and Talladega Nights to more serious fare in The Big Short. Not only did it earn him an Oscar nomination for Best Director, proving he could hang without his pal Will Ferrell, but it also made a film about the housing crisis more enjoyable than it probably should've been. Now he's moving on to another "serious" topic in Cheney, and once again it seems like he'll be having some fun with it.
