Rumor: Marvel Wants 'GLOW' Star Alison Brie As Their She-Hulk

Alison Brie may be taking her experience suplexing women in GLOW, and putting it to super-powered use in Marvel's She-Hulk series on Disney+. That's if a new rumor turns out to be true, which says she is tops on the list to play the mean, green lawyer to the superhero community.

Take this with a massive dose of salt because I can't vouch for the source, Knight Edge Media, who add Marvel could simply be looking for an Alison Brie "type". But why go for that if you can have the real deal? While she wasn't first to come to mind when thinking of She-Hulk, that's because we tend to only think of the big, muscled, green aspect of the character. We never just think of her as Bruce Banner's cousin, Jennifer Walters, a renowned attorney with a wicked sense of humor and tendency for breaking the fourth wall.

So we'll see how this plays out, but if true it's a choice I'm definitely down with. That said, I also wouldn't mind Brie's GLOW co-star Betty Gilpin, who is just as talented. Production on She-Hulk is to begin this summer.  Brie can be seen right now in Netflix's film Horse Girl. The final season of GLOW arrives later this year.

Rumor: WWE Superstar Sasha Banks Has A Role In 'The Mandalorian' Season 2

It might be Boss Time for Mando and Baby Yoda! 

WWE superstar Sasha Banks has been off TV for weeks nursing an apparent ankle injury, but if Pro Wrestling Sheet is correct, and we should take it with a grain of salt, The Boss aka Mercedes Justine Kaestner-Varnado has landed a role in The Mandalorian season 2. This rumor has been circulating for a while, but the wrestling news site thinks they have it confirmed.

Banks, who happens to be the cousin of Snoop Dogg, has reportedly already shot scenes for the Disney+ series, although her role remains under wraps. Other than WWE programming we've never seen Banks venture out in TV or film, so this is a big and somewhat surprising step, if true. I wouldn't expect her first role to be in a Star Wars series with as many eyes on it as The Mandalorian. Maybe she'll be under a mask, or voicing a character? Who knows?

I mean, there's no chance she's playing someone like Star Wars Rebels' resident Mandalorian, and former wielder of the Dark Saber, Sabine Wren? All resemblances to the contrary? She'd have the attitude and the hair down, I'll give her that.

Rumor: 'Parasite' HBO Series Eyeing Mark Ruffalo For Lead Role

Hmmm...is it possible that during Parasite's historic Best Picture win at last night's Oscars that director Bong Joon-ho had a meeting with Mark Ruffalo, who was on hand in a presenter role? I'm not pushing any conspiracies or anything, but today does bring the rumor that Ruffalo could be starring in the Parasite series being developed for HBO.

It's Collider who bring word on this one, noting multiple sources who say Ruffalo is being eyed for one of the series leads. That's about all the info there is, though.  Bong Joon-ho is teaming up with Adam McKay to expand on the hit film which centered on a poor family of grifters who ingratiate themselves into the lives of a wealthy family, with tragic results.

Depending on how the show eventually works out, I wouldn't be surprised if Ruffalo is playing the patriarch of the poor family, similar to Song Kang-ho's role. HBO has responded to Collider's story by saying any speculation on casting is "premature", which it's rightly noted does not mean "wrong."  So we'll see if this has any weight to it in the coming weeks, I'm sure.

Rumor: Joaquin Phoenix And Margot Robbie Eyed For Disney's 'Peter Pan & Wendy'

Take this with a serious grain of salt, but the rumor is too interesting to ignore. It's possible Oscar-nominated Joker star Joaquin Phoenix may be playing another iconic movie villain. According to The Illuminerdi, Phoenix is being eyed by Disney to star as Captain Hook in Peter Pan & Wendy, and has been offered the role. They also report another DC Comics movie star, Margot Robbie, is being sought for the role of Tinkerbell.

This version of the Peter Pan story (I've watched two Peter Pan movies this week and I'm done!!) would be directed by David Lowery, who recently worked with Disney on 2016's remake of Pete's Dragon. He's the indie filmmaker behind films such as Ain't them Bodies Saints, A Ghost Story, and The Old Man & The Gun. His Arthurian film Green Knight is due to arrive later this year.

It would be somewhat out of character for Phoenix to take on another blockbuster role like this. He's been notoriously picky throughout his career, and until Joker has shown very little interest in big studio projects. Robbie, on the other hand, has been very open to it. Something tells me not to put too much stock in any of this, but we should learn more soon as production on Peter Pan & Wendy begins this spring.

Michelle Yeoh Rumored For Marvel's 'Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings'

The cast of Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings may have just added one of the most kick-ass ladies around, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon's Michelle Yeoh. I emphasize "may have" because the source is The Weekly Planet, and I hope they're right on this one.

What's especially interesting about this is that Yeoh already has a role in the MCU. She briefly played Starhawk in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and might even return for Vol. 3. However, she wouldn't be playing that character in a Shang-Chi movie, or at least it's unlikely. Not that I'd be against any plot wild enough to have the cosmic Guardians crossover with the kung fu master.

Yeoh was most recently seen in Last Christmas, and will have a role in James Cameron's Avatar sequels. She also starred in Crazy Rich Asians and Star Trek Discovery.

If true, Yeoh would be joining a cast led by Simu Liu, Hong Kong superstar Tony Leung, and Awkwafina. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings opens February 12th 2021, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.

The Thunderbolts Rumored To Debut In 'Falcon And The Winter Soldier'

The Thunderbolts have been rumored for their MCU debut for years, but now, following the events of Avengers: Endgame, it does seem like the right time. The most recent rumblings have William Hurt's General Thunderbolt Ross forming the team during Black Widow, possibly even recruiting Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) for the squad, but a new rumor says they could appear on Disney+ first.

According to Full Circle Cinema (judge accordingly), Baron Zemo will form his team of Thunderbolts in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier miniseries. We do know that Daniel Bruhl is returning as Zemo, who in the comics took the villainous Masters of Evil and had them pose as heroes in the wake of the Avengers' disappearance.

It's possible Disney+ is also where we'll see the formation of the Young Avengers. I don't know about you, but a T-bolts vs. Young Avengers fight sounds pretty cool to me. Maybe the young team of heroes shows up to expose the frauds?

Take this rumor with a serious grain of salt until we know more. It's possible Marvel has no immediate plans for the team at all.

Daniel Radcliffe Rumored For Marvel's 'Moon Knight' Disney+ Series

The MCU may be about to add its next big star, and it would be to fill one of the oddest possible roles. With writers already at work on a Disney+ series featuring Moon Knight, a new rumor says Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, may be taking on the role of the warped superhero.

The rumor comes from Full Circle Cinema, so don't take it as gospel or anything. They say Radcliffe is eyed for the role of Marc Spector, aka the nocturnal hero/mercenary Moon Knight. Spector is infamous for his multiple personalities and his strange connection to the Egyptian moon god Knonshu.

Those less familiar with Radcliffe's stuff beyond the Wizarding World might see this as an odd fit, but if you've seen his weird performances in Swiss Army Man, Guns Akimbo, and Miracle Workers will know he's right for it. I would say the psychological torment he was able to show in The Woman in Black was also good for the struggle Moon Knight will be going through.

The Amazons Of Themyscira May Be Getting A 'Wonder Woman' Spinoff

It may have been Aquaman to be the first $1B hit for the DCEU, but it was Wonder Woman where things started to turn around for Warner Bros. The Internet is still buzzing over yesterday's trailer for sequel Wonder Woman 1984, but if a new rumor is true there may be a lot more Amazonian ass-kicking on the way.

According to Brazilian journalist Miguel Morales, a Wonder Woman spinoff may be in the works centered on the Amazonians from her home island of  Themyscira. Morales says it was confirmed by Patty Jenkins, who will exec-produce the film...

This actually makes a lot of sense, and I'm surprised it hasn't been announced before. Warner Bros. is already developing an Aquaman sequel, titled The Trench, that will have horror elements. A Wonder Woman spinoff following the wildly popular Amazonians is even more logical. Anything that might give us more of badass Robin Wright as Antiope is fine with me. And no dudes getting in the way! All kick-ass ladies on horseback with swords and arrows in this joint. I'm down for it.

Rumor Suggests Doctor Doom Will Debut In 'Black Panther 2'

With Noah Hawley's Doctor Doom movie put on ice, it's unclear when the Fantastic Four nemesis might make his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Strangely, a dubious new rumor from former MCU Exchange writer Charles Murphy suggests Doom won't debut along with the FF, but in Black Panther 2.

There aren't a ton of details offered by Murphy, other than to say this isn't an actual "hot scoop" yet, just something he heard from a supposedly reliable source that claims "Victor Von Doom will began expanding his empire, conquering parts of Africa and, ultimately, come into conflict with the nation of Wakanda and the Black Panther."

That storyline is pretty basic and anybody who has read a Marvel Comic could've come up with it, so I don't put much stock into it, or this particular rumor. I find it hard to believe Marvel would have Doom debut anywhere other than alongside the Fantastic Four. He may go on to be a much bigger threat from there, but it'll start with the FF I'm certain. Also, with Black Panther 2 not scheduled for release until May 2022, Ryan Coogler is probably just figuring out what the storyline will be. It's way too early to know anything for sure.

Maybe this means the FF will be in Black Panther 2, as well?

Billy Porter Could Play Fairy Godmother In Sony's 'Cinderella', Eyed For Audrey II In 'Little Shop Of Horrors'

We could be seeing Emmy-winning Pose star Billy Porter in two very high-profile musicals, and I'm guessing they both will bring a certain amount of controversy. According to Variety, Porter is in talks to join Sony's live-action Cinderella musical, and if he signs on it'll be to play the Fairy Godmother. Furthermore, Collider has Porter being eyed for Warner Bros.' long-developing Little Shop of Horrors, voicing the man-eating plant Audrey II.

So let's start with Cinderella, which has pop star Camila Cabelo set for the titular princess. This reimagining would be written and directed by Kay Cannon (Blockers), based on a story cooked up by James Corden.  Porter taking on the role fairy godmother is sure to get cue the outrage cannons in a lot of people. A man as the fairy godmother? A gay man? A gay black man? I don't know if the haters will be able to recover. An update by Collider says Porter's character would be referred to as the Fabulous Godfather, which should be clue enough that this version of Cinderella will be wildly different than previous versions.

The Little Shop of Horrors news is interesting because I thought that movie was dead. A few years ago Warner Bros. set Arrowverse mastermind Greg Berlanti to develop a Little Shop of Horrors musical, but the project has been pretty quiet since. Collider's story says the film is firmly in the planning stages now, with Porter the first name they've heard attached to play Audrey II, the man-eating plant that turns timid Seymour's life upside down. Others mentioned in the past for the part of Seymour include Joseph Gordon-Levitt (who was attached at one point), Ben Platt, Zac Efron, and Harry Styles.

Both of these projects are still fairly early on, but news like this is usually the beginning of an avalanche so expect more soon.

Another Nova Rumor Says The Cosmic Hero Is In Marvel's Phase 5 Plans

Oh? Nova is finally coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you say? it's hard to know whether to take this latest rumor seriously or not because one pops up every few months, most recently in May, always with the goalpost moved. Such is the case here.

The rumor comes from the semi-reliable MCU Cosmic, which says that Nova will be part of Marvel's Phase 5 slate, which they definitively state will include Blade, the X-Men, and Fantastic Four. I mean, maybe? 

It's all possible but until Kevin Feige says that's when any of those characters are set to debut, take this with the usual amount of salt. Assuming this rumor is true, I could see him appearing first in a Captain Marvel sequel, maybe teaming up the two cosmic heavy-hitters.  And I don't leave out the chance Nova gets a series on Disney+, which would be expensive but something Marvel hasn't tried before.

'Black Widow' Appears To Have A William Hurt Cameo, Possibly Teasing A 'Thunderbolts' Movie

I love a good Marvel rumor, especially one that teases one of my favorite superhero teams ever. But this one, from podcaster Charles Murphy and whispers going around the Internet, is still a little too doughy for me to take seriously. Still, it deals with the upcoming Black Widow movie and a cameo by a figure in the MCU who only shows up for good reason: William Hurt's General Thunderbolt Ross.

Set photos have captured Hurt on the Black Widow set during what is believed to be additional filming on the Russian spy's first solo outing. What's Hurt doing there? That's anybody's guess, really, but rumors going around are that Ross is there to set up a possible Thunderbolts movie. Why? You got me. Hopefully not because his well-earned monicker is "Thunderbolt". If you're wondering why a set photo of Hurt doesn't fully convince me he's in the movie, just look at Marvel's track record of misdirection on Infinity War and Endgame.

If you don't know, the Thunderbolts were a team comprised of the Avengers' arch-enemies, the Masters of Evil. While the Avengers were thought lost, the villains posed as the superheroic Thunderbolts and won the world's support. They were eventually discovered, but some of them managed to truly reform and fight on the side of good. In later incarnations the team took on a Black Ops role, with one of its members the powerful Red Hulk, who would be revealed as a transformed Thunderbolt Ross. Former leaders of the team included Baron Zemo, who has already been introduced and played quite well by Daniel Bruhl, and Hawkeye, who saw it as an opportunity to help villains reform the way he once did. Hmmm...that seems to echo with his current MCU storyline, doesn't it? He's got some atoning to do.

Black Widow reportedly takes place in the gap between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, a time when the Sokovia Accords are in effect and Cap's team is on the run. Black Widow eventually joins their side, which would put her at odds with Ross who was a major factor in getting it passed. So it makes sense for him to show up at this point, but the Thunderbolts thing seems like a reach. For now.

That said, if Marvel were going to do a Thunderbolts movie it would be now with the Avengers broken apart, some of their number dead, and a major power vacuum left in the hero community. Perhaps that is what drives this rumor, but I don't know.  What do you think?

'The Batman' Could Introduce Dick Grayson And Tie Into Upcoming 'Batgirl' Film

One of the mysteries surrounding Matt Reeves' The Batman has been solved with the casting of Robert Pattinson, but others still remain. Chief among them is whether this movie will be part of a larger franchise, or simply be a one-off similar to Joker. Forbes has dropped a report full of speculative bits that suggest this will be a much bigger movie than the simple detective story we've been led to believe Reeves was pursuing.

Other than Pattinson, the only casting we've heard about is Jeffrey Wright possibly playing Commissioner Jim Gordon, and that seems closer to a done deal than talk of Jonah Hill as the Riddler. But beyond that all we've heard is to expect many of Batman's Rogues Gallery to show up. with Catwoman, Two-Face, and Penguin among them. The reason for so many villains is that Reeves and Warner Bros. are looking far ahead on this one, with the possibility of a trilogy and beyond.

As part of this extensive story, Reeves wants to really flesh out the world of Gotham, and that includes the possible introduction of Batgirl, tying into her solo movie which is in the works, and Dick Grayson aka Robin aka Nightwing, who has a movie currently on hold. Part of the reason for halting the Nightwing movie is to give Reeves time to decide if he wants to introduce the character or not, but the report goes on to say “Dick Grayson is expected to make an appearance in one of the Reeves movies, probably in the form of an origin story."

Batgirl currently has a writer in Christina Hodson, who wrote Birds of Prey which has the Cassandra Cain version of Batgirl in it. Presumably, Reeves' movie would stick to the O.G. Batgirl, Barbara Gordon, who happens to be the daughter of Jim Gordon.  It's interesting that Warner Bros. was reportedly looking to cast a "Kristen Stewart type" to play Batgirl, only to cast her Twilight co-star Pattinson as Batman soon after. I feel like they're maybe trying to bring those two back together somehow.

These sound like some ambitious plans, and I think we know Warner Bros' track record when they try to get ambitious with their DC Comics movies. It usually ends up going very poorly. But this is a new era and maybe things will be different?   The Batman is currently scheduled open on June 25th 2021.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge Reportedly Eyed To Write 'Bond 26'

Phoebe Waller-Bridge's epic 2019 continues to soar. Following her Emmy wins for Fleabag and the continued success of Killing Eve, she's also been helping on the script for James Bond film No Time to Die. And it looks as if she's been doing a bang-up job, because rumors are she may be sticking around for the long haul.

According to DailyMail's ultimate Bond scooper, Baz Bamigboye, Waller-Bridge is producers' top choice to write Bond 26. Of course, this is a very long ways off, as the report notes. It took forever for them to get shit together on No Time to Die, and that's when star Daniel Craig requested Waller-Bridge be brought on to give the script a female's touch. Makes sense considering this film has the first woman ever designated 007. 

So who knows what the landscape will look like when it's time for Bond 26 to get moving. Craig isn't expected back, and so one has to think an even longer time will be required just to find his replacement. That decision has to have an impact on the story and thus who is going to write it. We'll see if that ends up being Waller-Bridge or not, but the prospect of it is pretty exciting.

Marvel Reportedly Can't Find A Home For Its 'New Warriors' TV Series

With Hulu and Disney+ only adding to the wealth of new homes for Marvel content, learning that one of their most promising shows can't find a network is a little surprising. The live-action New Warriors had a ton of potential when it was announced in 2016, and was poised to air on Freeform just last year. But now a rumor from Geeks Worldwide (judge accordingly) says the series is dead with everybody passing on it.

Strange, because it was just in 2017 that we'd heard network execs loved the series pilot, which centered on Marvel's young team of super-powered heroes, basically considered junior leaguers to the Avengers. Freeform was supposed to begin airing it in 2018 but couldn't find a place for it on the schedule, and basically gave it back to Marvel TV to shop around. Attempts to get it picked up at Disney-owned networks Disney+ and Hulu failed to garner any interest.

The half-hour comedy would've starred AT&T girl Milana Vayntrub as Squirrel Girl,Callum Worthy as Robbie Baldwin aka Speedball, Derek Theler as Craig Hollis aka Mister Immortal, Jeremy Tardy as Dwayne Taylor aka Night Thrasher, Kate Comer as Deborah Fields aka Debrii, and Matthew Moy as Zack Smith aka Microbe. Enlisted creator Kevin Biegel was behind the series, which many saw as a natural fit with other Marvel teen shows Runaways and Cloak & Dagger. The hope was to secure a two-season deal with potential for spinoffs.

Whether the rumor is true or not, I think it's clear New Warriors isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and if we see some of these characters it may have to be elsewhere within the MCU. I'd love to see Justice and Firestar become part of a youth movement within the Avengers, just as Kurt Busiek did in the comics.

Actor Keith David, who was cast to play the team's nemesis, doesn't know if New Warriors has a future or not, which probably means "not".  He told Comicbook.com...

"In this business, one never knows. I would hope that at some point it would come back. Everybody seemed to like it and loved the idea. Who knows why it hasn't come to fruition yet. That's not something I have any control or say in. But I would gladly be a part of it whenever, if ever it comes back."

'Young Avengers' Series Rumored To Be In The Works For Disney+

It's clear that the MCU is undergoing an evolution. A new crop of heroes were introduced to be part of Phase 4, but it's going to take more than that to replace the Avengers. So how about the Young Avengers? Fans, including myself, have theorized for a while the young team of heroes would be debuting soon, and now a rumor says their arrival is actually in the works.

Feel free to be skeptical of this rumor from Full Circle, a site I don't know shit about, but they claim an insider has info on a Young Avengers series happening on Disney+, with the possibility of a movie to follow. They add that another young team of Marvel heroes, the Champions, could be included which could mean Ms. Marvel  may have a role in all of this. We already know Ms. Marvel will be getting her own series and a movie in the near future.

The casting of Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop in the upcoming Hawkeye series could be the start of the Young Avengers' formation. Bishop will be gaining experience from Clint Barton, but who knows where she goes from there? Other members of the Young Avengers team have connections to Disney+ Marvel shows. Eli Bradley aka Patriot is the grandson of Isaiah Bradley, an African-American who was among the first to survive the Super-Soldier serum later given to Captain America. He could possibly be introduced in Falcon & the Winter Soldier. William Kaplan aka Wiccan and Tommy Shepherd aka Speed are the children of Scarlet Witch and Vision, maybe debuting in WandaVision? ; And Kid Loki is a reincarnation of...well, Loki, who has his own timeline-jumping series coming up.

If true, don't be surprised if others join the team, maybe even Ant-Man's young daughter Cassie Lang, who eventually becomes the Young Avenger known as Stature.

It all makes sense but until someone from Marvel, preferably Kevin Feige, says it's real just keep it filed away for now.

Marvel Studios May Introduce Doctor Doom In An Unexpected Way

Doctor Doom may be one of Marvel's greatest villains but he's had a shitty run of movies. While I don't hate the Fantastic Four movies of the mid-2000s, their handling of Doom wasn't great and don't even get me started on what they did to him in the 2015 movie. With Marvel Studios now in control of the character there's a chance for Doom to finally get his due, and a new rumor says he may be introduced in an unexpected way.

According to MCU Cosmic (judge accordingly), Doctor Doom may not be a villain when/if the Fantastic Four are given a movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  It doesn't necessarily mean he'll be a good guy, either, just not an outright adversarial threat to the team.

I've repeatedly said the Fantastic Four would be better in a Lost in Space-style TV series rather than a movie, and maybe somebody out there is listening. Another option being kicked around is to show Doom's origin in a Disney+ limited series first, before taking on the team in a big screen sequel.

Last we'd heard, Fargo and Legion creator Noah Hawley was developing a movie based on the supervillain, but that was before Disney's acquisition of Fox. Hawley's been mixed on whether it can fit into Marvel's agenda, but if it were shifted to a Disney+ series would that work better for them?

Rumor: All X-Men References Cut From 'The New Mutants', May Become Part Of MCU

The saga of The New Mutants has now reached positively Claremont-esque proportions. The troubled superhero flick, which Disney is sorta saddled with after the acquisition of Fox, has long been a problem child with reports of rewrites, reshoots, on-set conflicts, and just the overall feeling that it's a disaster in the making. While it does appear to be getting some kind of release next April, a new rumor says Disney have overhauled the move in a way that fundamentally changes the characters and its ties to the X-Men.

The rumor from FandomWire says the latest cut of New Mutants removes any ties to previous X-Men movies and any references to the characters as "mutants". They say this was done in case Kevin Feige decides to make the movie part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That suggests when the X-Men do arrive in the MCU that they won't be referred to as mutants, or perhaps he wants the word to only debut when they do. The New Mutants characters will instead be just teens with superpowers trapped in a secret facility where experiments are conducted. You would also think a name change might be in order, right?

Despite all of the shit this movie has taken up until now, we can't forget that we haven't seen anything of it other than a horror-themed trailer. I don't count out Feige to find a way to edit the move in a way that makes it salvageable for the MCU. The cast alone, which includes big stars such as Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, and Alice Braga, makes this a movie you simply can't give up on. The assumption shouldn't be that Dark Phoenix was a failure, so The New Mutants must be one, too.

If I were Disney/Marvel, I'd chop up The New Mutants into an event series and drop it on Disney+. I think there's a greater chance for success and potential for growth.

'Spider-Man: Far From Home' Rumored For Re-Release With Bonus Footage

Say what you want about Marvel's re-release of Avengers: Endgame, but that shit helped push them ahead of Avatar as the top-grossing movie of all-time. So it was a success, even if the extra features were pretty lousy, and it may have set an example of what's to come. Now, a new rumor says Sony and Marvel are planning a re-release of Spider-Man: Far from Home that will include never-before-seen footage.

Far from Home already has the distinction of being Sony's highest-grossing movie ever with $1.1B, surpassing Skyfall.  The re-release will reportedly drop on August 30th and run until September 5th and will include unseen footage as a Director's Cut. Don't be surprised if we get the "Peter's To-Do List" footage that director Jon Watts said would be turned into a short film.  It's possible other bonuses from the upcoming Blu-ray release will be part of the re-release, as well.

We may see this be the pattern from here on out for Marvel Studios flicks as audiences are clearly willing to shell out more dough for a few extra minutes. As long as they make those extras worth it, the sky's the limit.

'The Batman': John David Washington And Chiwetel Ejiofor Rumored For Villain Roles

I don't know what to make of these rumors except to say that I hope they're true, but the sources give me serious doubts.

Matt Reeves' The Batman is said to have many different villains for the Caped Crusader to face, including Penguin, Catwoman, and Riddler. But there may be more, and one that hasn't come up as much is Harvey Dent aka Two-Face, who was last played by Aaron Eckhart in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. A rumor by Geeks Worldwide (ugh) says Reeves is "paying close attention to" BlackKklansman star John David Washington to take on the role of Dent, who isn't even confirmed to be in the movie. Furthermore, the site says no talks with Washington have begun.

What the hell does "paying close attention to" even mean? Is he just watching a lot of Washington footage? Is he calling his pops Denzel and asking where his son is having lunch that day? I don't get it, but it sounds like some flimsy bullshit.

I like the sound of Washington and star Robert Pattinson appearing together, though, even if it's only briefly. Washington had a helluva 2018 with BlackKklansman along with Monsters and Men, plus he was just featured in the teaser for Christopher Nolan's Tenet. Even bigger things are on the way for him.

Meanwhile, We Got This Covered says The Batman is targeting one of the best actors in the biz, Chiwetel Ejiofor, for one of any number of roles. He may also be up for playing Harvey Dent, but Warner Bros. could be considering him for The Riddler or Lucius Fox, the latter a business exec and inventor who works for Wayne Enterprises. Fox was played by Morgan Freeman in Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. Ejiofor is already part of the MCU where he played Baron Mordo in Doctor Strange, and will presumably return for the upcoming sequel.

Take ALL of this with a grain of salt until something is confirmed, but I think you can tell I'm skeptical. Having two of today's finest black actors possibly going toe-to-toe with Batman sounds pretty cool, though, so I hope these pan out.
