Clue Remake With Gore Verbinski?

Well I suppose it was bound to happen, what with Candyland being announced and a slew of remakes continuing to cramp up the marquees across the country. The only next logical choice would be a remake of a board game adaptation. Coming soon to a theater near you is a remake of the wonderful mid 80's classic Clue. The suprising part about this is that Gore Verbinski of Pirates of the Caribbean is directing, he really seems like a big scope director on a small scope project. He's quoted as saying
"a global thriller and transmedia event that uses deductive reasoning as its storytelling engine."
I've never been completely against remakes, mostly because you can always revert to the source material if nothing's added in the redux. I do, however, take exception to this film as I am vehemently against it. The original was a complete stay home from school classic to me, a film that was part of my childhood as much as, say E.T. or The Goonies. I also dont see what could be improved upon from the first, cast and story were perfect if you ask me. Ah well, I suppose this is the way it goes these days.
